River of Tears is part of a narrative sculptural collection, each piece serves as a heartfelt tribute to the healing and transformative power of the tears that parents experience with and for their children.  ‘River of Tears’ are filled with tears of joy, wonder, hope, pride, reflecting the gift of children and for some, sadness, pain, and profound sorrow - reflecting the deep connections we share throughout life’s ups and downs.
 
We walk through these carved paths with our children and then separately. For those of us who have faced the loss of a child, the separation comes unnaturally. My own experience of losing my son has imbued each moment a tear rolls down my cheek with a deeper significance, reminding me of the unbreakable bond that remains, even when our children are with us in our hearts rather than holding our hands.

 These pieces honour the heartfelt joy and heartache that define my journey in and through motherhood.
